Pruning For Plant Health

Every plant has a natural growth structure. No matter how much you wish to change that structure, the plant will attempt to find balance. At Knotwood Landscaping, we believe in a pruning strategy that honors a plant's natural shape and promotes healthy, long term growth.

We do not "top" trees, hedge shrubs into unnatural shapes, or trim plum trees in February.

We focus on removal of dead, dying, or diseased limbs...sanitizing between cuts. Our use of chainsaws is selective and thoughtful to ensure that every tree is left balanced and clean. We anticipate how each cut will regrow over the next 1, 2, or 5 years to ensure that the plant will slow, speed up, or fill in as desired.

Correct plant placement is the best form of preventative pruning. Always leave room for air flow, water, and roots.
